Are you an artist in Salem? Did you perform or attend Mix-n-Mash 2007 or Mix-n-Mash 2008? Stop by ƒ/stop Fitzgerald’s October 23 and 24 and let us show you our appreciation for helping us out over the past few years.

That’s right, it’s artist appreciation night in NoNoBro (North North Broadway District) and you’re invited for two days of free entertainment, bar specials, a big slap on the back and an attaboy for sticking it out here in Salem.

Here’s your chance to get a little liquid appreciation and much-deserved respect from the humble and ever-grateful Mid-Valley Video Festival, organizers of the Video Festival, Mix-n-Mash, Cherry City Music Festival, Ignite Salem, Salem Beer and Blog, Regeneration Art Festival and the newly opened f-stop visual arts center.

We’ll have the best of the past Mix-n-Mash events playing on the big screen, an outstanding exhibit from Chris Haberman, Seven Brides and Old Rasputin pouring in Salem’s biggest pints (20 oz!) and a fine selection of wines and Wandering Aengus Hard Cider.

So what are you waiting for? Stop by at f-stop visual arts center (all ages) or ƒ/stop Fitzgerald’s (21+) this Friday and Saturday for Salem Artists Night we’ll show you some love. 335 Grove St NE 4:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. both nights.

Mix-n-Mash moves to NoBro for the third annual event featuring film, fashion, music, performance and visual art occurring October 23 and 24 at f-stop visual arts center, The Space and ƒ/stop Fitzgerald’s. In addition to exhibits and performances, the benefit for Mid-Valley Video Festival offers area filmmakers, artists, designers, performers and musicians an opportunity to network and share experiences about living and working in Salem.
Visual artist Chris Haberman will be on hand during his exhibit at the f-stop visual arts center Saturday. Haberman is the creative director of Portland City Art and curator of Big 100 Art Show occurring there in December. He will be featured on Oregon Art Beat this season in November. Local designer Matt Kenitzer, owner of someone clothing, will also be at the center with his latest line of casual wear clothing.
Next door at ƒ/stop Fitzgerald’s, music video from previous Mix-n-Mash events will be on the big screen both nights. The installation will showcase the best performances from more than 100 local creatives involved in the Salem arts scene during the past two years. Past participants will receive bar specials and pumpkin carving and a cigar bar will be offered on the patio.
Live music will take the stage at The Space, with hard rockers Mrs. Esterhouse, Defeating the Purpose, 3B! performing on Friday and jazz musicians All in Perspective and Jake Duncan playing on Saturday.
The event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. both days at f-stop visual arts center and ƒ/stop Fitzgerald’s, 335 Grove St NE and 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at The Space, 1132 Broadway NE. The event is free except for Saturday at The Space where there will be a small cover charge. Donations will be accepted. For more information, visit mix-n-mash.com or contact ross@mix-n-mash.com.
